Get a message when there is an update available for a plugin or core

Hello
i wonder if their is a plugin to receive a message (email) when there is an update available for a plugin or core. Or is their perhaps another way so that I can recognize it.
Couldn't find a plugin or something in the forum..

A lot of people watched this question, but so far no solution?
I thought it is something thats common to other CMS - for security reasons.
Just want to ask again because its not very convenient to always login in and look if there is an Update available?
