Safe email filter produces w3c validation error

I just noticed that using the twig filter for safe email output (http://learn.getgrav.org/themes/twig-filters-functions#safe-email) results in error messages when using https://validator.w3.org/.

Error: Character reference was not terminated by a semicolon.
At line 171, column 89

Any ideas? :(
