Noob install problem linux

Hi I have been wanting to install grav on linux Debian with local lamp server. My problem is that I am not able to get to the grav is running page. I am just getting a blank page.
I have an apache2 server and I have installed grav it in the /var/www/html/. I have also tried to install Grav in a directory inside my home directory with a symbolic link and by changing the DocumentRoot to this directory. However no succes with any of my attempts. Is there something I am missing?

I just wanted to ad that I was able to read the php start page, and that I am able to get to an index page where I can see my grav-admin folder and the skeleton folder I also installed there but both of them just serves a blank page when I browse them

Never mind i succeeded, in getting it on.

Hey, do you know how you got it working in the end? I have the exact same issue and it's driving me nuts now.
