A cleaner way to display shorter language names with the langswitcher plugin?

Hi, I'm polishing work on the multilanguage website. I would like to display language selection with shorter names of languages (i.e. EN, DE), instead of default display (English, Deutch). I use "dirty" method for that: just edited LanguageCodes.php in system/src/Grav/Common/Language, but every Grav update bill break that. Any advice for a better solution?
