Hi Grave community and support. I have been using your CMS for a while on my personal website.

I am now looking to migrate my old Wordpress blog to a new CMS (without Database to reduce management pain) and I may do it to Grav (we are talking about 1000 posts). I just have 2 questions:

  • Is there a plugin or method out of the box and up-to-date I could use to do that? For example, by exporting all content into an XML from Wordpress.
  • I absolutely want to keep the same URL structure I have on my blog (https://blog.ramenos.net). Would that be possible?
  • I don’t need to keep hero images, but keeping media within posts would be great.

I saw multiple discussions about this topic, but they are from 2017-2018… So I decided to create a new one. Also, curious to have your feedback if it’s a good idea to use Grav just for blogging ;).

Thanks in advance for your help.

sure, just install grav for blog.ramenos.net which is subdomain
you can install grav for ramenos.net seperately
or you can install grav for ramenos.net and create multi-site setup for blog.ramenos.net which is hard way

there are many themes and skeletons for blogging, you can try them easy.
you can use just a text editor to create posts but there are also many plugins that may help writing even thought basic admin plugin "pages" is enough for many things, visit download section at getgrav.org
