Writing default blueprint values to page on creation

It's possible to set the default value to a variable within a blueprint, but it doesn't seem to be writing to the page header. So from the page's perspective, rather than a default value, the value is simply non-existent before it's explicitly set.

Is it possible to forcibly write this default value to the page on creation?
