  Many thanks - the problem was that my header image was in user/images and not user/pages/images. Without your help I doubt that I would have found that ever (though the manual is very clear).

  Well no, I think they were right before. They are in exactly the same place in pnhbtheme as same named files in quark directory and where the manual says to put them. Still my blog uses the blog.html.
