  A late answer but it might be helpful. Add the markdown filter to the field like this: {{ content|markdown }} it should then render correctly.

  Thanks @pamtbaau - I don't why I didn't think to check that. It works fine in Quark, but doesn't work in Typhoon, just as it doesn't work in my edited copy of Typhoon. So the problem is in Typhoon.
